NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell has warned parents to send their children to school from next week or risk them being marked absent.
NSW Premier warned parents to brace for major disruptions until a COVID-19 vaccine was found.
"It will be common ... for schools to be shut down temporarily," she said.
"It will be common for a particular school to take extra measures if there's a community breakout in that community with cases.

Schools can run PE classes and sports days, although contact sports are banned.
Non-essential visitors , including parents , will also be barred from entering school grounds.
