2017 Award for Excellence Parent Category (Dual Winners)
Maria Claudia Lutz
“On behalf of the St Lucy’s School for Children with Disabilities Wahroonga community, we would like to submit a posthumous nomination for Mrs Maria Claudia Lutz to be considered as the recipient of your 2017 Parent Award for Excellence. Maria was a member of the St Lucy’s community for over 6 years, with both her daughter, Elisa, and son, Martin, attending our school. Throughout this time she demonstrated exceptional dedication to the students, staff and parents of this special community through her selfless contribution, boundless enthusiasm and complete commitment to all aspects and facets of the school.”
Judy Mussett
Judy Mussett – was a volunteer Canteen Co-ordinator at Shore School from 2014-2017. In her time, Judy’s tireless dedication has seen the canteen grow from a simple school tuckshop with basic tea and coffee and sausage sandwiches, to a busy and popular canteen offering high quality healthy food choices, and a new integrated point of sale system. In addition to running the canteen, Judy was in charge of the “Cafe” at our American Tea, our annual Spring Fair from 2016-7.
The profits from the sales of both the canteen and the Cafe at the American Tea are one of the Parents’ Associations’ major sources of funding, and go directly back into the school to help fund scholarships and equipment for the boys.
Judy retired at the end of Term 3 2017, with her youngest son finishing Year 12. Our School will certainly miss Judy and her exceptional passion and generosity she brings to our school. The amount of time she has spent organising and running the canteen is quite extraordinary for a volunteer and we are extremely grateful as a school community, for her dedication.
